AAP attacks BJP over the CBI raid at Bhagwant Mann’s camp office, calling it an attempt to intimidate Punjab ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has stepped up its attack on the BJP-led Central government following the CBI raid at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s camp office. AAP leaders alleged that central agencies are being used to put pressure on the Punjab government ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
The party claimed that the raid was intended to intimidate Punjab, target people associated with the state government and create a negative political narrative around the Bhagwant Mann administration.
Manish Sisodia Calls CBI BJP’s ‘Advance Party’
AAP Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia criticised the CBI action, alleging that the BJP had failed to find strong political issues in Punjab and was therefore relying on central investigative agencies.
In a post on X, Sisodia claimed that the raid was aimed at damaging the image of the state government. He described the CBI as the BJP’s “advance party” ahead of the 2027 Punjab elections.
Sisodia further argued that the action reflected political frustration rather than strength. He said the voice of Punjab could not be suppressed through investigative agencies.

Harpal Cheema Accuses BJP of Intimidation
Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also targeted the BJP over the CBI operation. He alleged that the ruling party at the Centre was using agencies such as the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to intimidate political opponents across the country.
Cheema questioned the timing of the raid, saying the CBI acted within 24 hours instead of waiting for the Supreme Court to hear AAP’s petition. He described the development as an attempt to create fear among Punjabis.
Cheema asserted that Punjab has never bowed to political pressure and claimed that voters would respond to what he called the BJP’s “high-handedness” during the elections.
He also said AAP would continue its fight for the Constitution and democratic values through political, parliamentary and legal platforms.
Aman Arora: ‘This Is the Beginning of BJP’s 2027 Campaign’
AAP Punjab president and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora directly linked the CBI raid with the upcoming Assembly elections.
Arora said the action marked the beginning of the BJP’s 2027 campaign in Punjab. He alleged that the BJP was concerned about the work carried out by the Bhagwant Mann government over the past several years.
According to Arora, the BJP has struggled to establish itself politically on the ground and is now turning toward central agencies to create pressure. He maintained that Punjab’s voters have historically responded strongly to what they perceive as political interference.
Sanjay Singh Says BJP Relies on ED and CBI
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also criticised the Centre over the raid. In a post on X, Singh alleged that the BJP’s primary strategy during elections was to use agencies such as the ED and CBI against political rivals.
Singh said people in Punjab were closely observing the action against the Bhagwant Mann government. He highlighted sectors including electricity, water, education and healthcare, claiming that the state government’s performance was being targeted for political reasons.
Baljit Kaur Alleges Political Use of Agencies
Punjab Cabinet Minister Baljit Kaur also accused the BJP of using central investigative agencies for political purposes as the 2027 Assembly elections approach.
AAP leaders have collectively maintained that the CBI raid will not weaken the party or the Bhagwant Mann government. Instead, they argue that the action could become a major political issue ahead of the elections.
The latest confrontation has intensified the ongoing AAP-BJP battle in Punjab, with both sides likely to sharpen their political attacks as the state moves closer to the 2027 Assembly polls.
