AAP leaders pay tribute to Kanshi Ram Ji on his birth anniversary, reaffirming commitment to social justice, equality, and empowerment of marginalized communities in Punjab.
Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) paid rich tributes to Bahujan icon Kanshi Ram Ji on his birth anniversary, highlighting his lifelong dedication to social justice and empowerment of marginalized communities. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward his vision through policies focused on equality, education, and welfare for all sections of society.
Speaking at a gathering in Ropar, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema emphasized that Kanshi Ram Ji awakened the Bahujan society and spread the ideology of Babasaheb Ambedkar across the country. “During my student life, I had the privilege of working alongside Kanshi Ram Ji and witnessing his dedication to social transformation. He travelled from village to village, often on foot or bicycle, spreading awareness and uniting the Bahujan community. His life was devoted to promoting equality and justice at the grassroots level,” Cheema stated.
Harpal Singh Cheema added that the message of political participation for marginalized communities, championed by Kanshi Ram Ji, continues to inspire public servants and citizens alike. “His vision encouraged many of us to enter public life and work towards social reform. Highlighting the initiatives of the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Cheema said the AAP government is implementing Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals through effective governance and welfare policies. Historic steps, such as ensuring reservation in the office of the Advocate General at Punjab and Haryana High Court, have created opportunities for young lawyers from underprivileged backgrounds. Reforms in government schools are enabling students from ordinary families to clear competitive exams like JEE and NEET, giving them access to top careers in the country.
In addition to education, Cheema pointed out various welfare initiatives by the Punjab Government, including free electricity, improved healthcare, and financial assistance schemes aimed at empowering women and economically weaker sections. These measures reflect the continued relevance of Kanshi Ram Ji’s vision in today’s governance.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Pawan Kumar Tinu addressed a gathering in Jalandhar, calling Kanshi Ram Ji a fearless leader who dedicated his life to uniting and empowering the Bahujan community. “The life and struggle of Kanshi Ram Ji serve as an enduring source of inspiration. Today, AAP leaders pay tribute to Kanshi Ram Ji by renewing their pledge to uphold social equality, unity, and political awareness,” Tinu said.
The tribute events also emphasized the AAP government’s focus on creating equal opportunities for all sections of society in Punjab, staying true to the vision of both Babasaheb Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram Ji. By implementing welfare schemes, reforms, and educational initiatives, the government is actively working to carry forward the legacy of the late leader and ensure social justice reaches every corner of the state.
Through these commemorations, it was clear that AAP leaders pay tribute to Kanshi Ram Ji not only to honor his life but to continue his mission of equality, social upliftment, and empowerment across Punjab and beyond.
