CM Bhagwant Mann launches AI Kranti in Punjab to boost farmers’ income, promote smart agriculture, and ensure sustainable farming for the future.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has unveiled a transformative vision for the state’s agriculture sector, positioning AI Kranti in Punjab as the next major step to revive farm incomes and secure the future of farmers. Addressing a large gathering at the state-level Kisan Mela, he stressed that traditional farming methods have reached their limits and require technological support to remain viable.
Highlighting the urgency, the Chief Minister said that AI Kranti in Punjab is essential to counter falling agricultural profits and rising input costs. He emphasized that artificial intelligence will enable farmers to make data-driven decisions about crop selection, sowing time, and resource use, ultimately increasing productivity and profitability.
Speaking at Punjab Agricultural University, Mann recalled Punjab’s historic contribution to India’s food security during the Green Revolution. However, he noted that this progress came at the cost of soil health and groundwater depletion. “Now the time has come to protect our farmers’ future through innovation, and AI Kranti in Punjab will lead that transformation,” he said.

The Chief Minister explained that AI-based systems will guide farmers on crop planning and efficient use of water and fertilizers. This will not only enhance yields but also reduce environmental pressure. According to him, AI Kranti in Punjab represents a shift towards sustainable and smart agriculture, aligning the state with global farming trends.
He also highlighted several pro-farmer initiatives introduced by his government, including uninterrupted electricity supply to tube wells, record-high sugarcane prices, and swift payments for crop procurement. Investments in canal modernization and irrigation expansion have significantly increased water availability, benefiting millions of acres of farmland. These measures, he said, complement the goals of AI Kranti in Punjab by strengthening the overall agricultural ecosystem.
In addition to agriculture, Mann spoke about welfare schemes such as financial assistance for women under the Maavan Dhian Satkar Yojana, which aims to support nearly 97% of women in the state. He criticized opposition leaders for mocking such initiatives, stating that they fail to understand the struggles of ordinary citizens.
Targeting previous governments, the Chief Minister accused them of neglecting Punjab and allowing issues like drugs and crime to grow. He asserted that his administration is focused on transparent governance and people-centric development. “My only share is in the pain of Punjab’s people,” he said, reinforcing his commitment to public welfare.
Concluding his address, Mann stated that AI Kranti in Punjab will not only improve farmers’ income but also ensure long-term sustainability and economic growth. He expressed confidence that with innovation, strong policies, and farmer support, Punjab will once again lead the country in agricultural excellence
