Punjab’s industrial growth received a historic boost as Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated India’s second-largest Tata Steel Ludhiana plant, marking a decisive shift in industrial policy and employment generation. The plant, established at a cost of ₹3,200 crore, is expected to directly employ 2,700 youth and provide indirect employment to over 10,000, positioning Punjab as a hub for modern, green-energy-based steel production.
Addressing the gathering, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Today, with the Tata Steel Ludhiana plant inauguration, Punjab has made history by launching steel production using 100% green energy through Electric Arc Furnace technology.
