Baltej Pannu hits back at Sukhbir Badal, exposing Akali Dal’s dark rule in Punjab and their role in beadbi cases. Punjab will never forgive their 2007–2017 failures.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State Media Incharge Baltej Pannu launched a sharp counterattack on Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, accusing him of attempting to rewrite Punjab’s history to hide the Akali Dal’s role in beadbi (sacrilege) cases. Pannu emphasized that all major incidents of beadbi trace back to the Akali regime, and Sukhbir Badal’s recent claims blaming AAP are politically motivated and misleading.
Speaking strongly, Baltej Pannu said, “Sukhbir Badal for trying to hold the AAP government responsible for beadbi incidents. He is attempting to safeguard his political career, but Punjab’s people know the truth about his tenure.”
Highlighting historical events, Pannu questioned Sukhbir Badal, “He claims that beadbi started after AAP came to power. Perhaps he has forgotten the 1986 Nakodar incident when four youths were martyred while seeking justice after the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Which government was in power then? Was AAP governing Punjab at that time? Punjab’s people have not forgotten which forces were behind these tragic events.”

Pannu also referenced the 2015 cases: “In June 2015, the sacred saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was stolen from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala, and the desecration of the bir happened in October 2015. During this period, the Badal family controlled Punjab. Was AAP in power? No. It was their government that shielded the culprits.”
He further mentioned police brutality at Kotkapura and the Behbal Kalan killings, where two innocent Sikhs were martyred. Reports from the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission and Justice Zora Singh Commission clearly highlight the real faces behind these incidents. Today, Sukhbir Singh Badal is out on bail in the Kotkapura case, alongside Sumedh Saini, Charanjit Sharma, and Umranangal — a reminder of the dark deeds of that regime.
Baltej Pannu concluded, “The Akali Dal’s rule from 2007 to 2017 was a dark chapter in Punjab’s history. Punjab was pushed into a period of drugs, corruption, and beadbi. To avoid responsibility, Sukhbir Badal is now making baseless allegations against AAP. Sukhbir Badal under Pannu’s attack clearly shows that the truth cannot be hidden — Punjab’s people will never forget or forgive these failures.”
