The Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) has made a landmark decision to restrict entry of non-Hindus into its temples, including the iconic Badri Nath and Kedar Nath shrines. The decision, passed unanimously in the recent BKTC meeting, will affect 47 temples under the committee’s jurisdiction.
Following the announcement, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami provided his comments on the sensitive matter. CM Dhami said, “We will review the committee’s decision carefully. The board, along with legal frameworks and traditional practices, will be studied before finalizing any further steps.”
