Chhattisgarh NEWS : The Three-Tier Panchayat General Elections 2025 are being conducted in three phases. The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission announced the election schedule for urban bodies and panchayats on January 20. State Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh confirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed in advance.
According to the schedule released by the State Election Commission, the notification for the three-tier Panchayat elections was issued on January 27, officially beginning the nomination process. The last date for submitting nomination papers was February 3, 2025, until 3 PM. Candidates were allowed to withdraw their nominations by February 6, 2025, at 3 PM, with the final list of candidates and election symbol allocation completed the same day.
Officials informed that vote counting would take place at polling stations on the polling day itself. The tabulation and announcement of results for Panch, Sarpanch, and Janpad Panchayat elections at the block level were completed for the first phase on January 19. The results for the second phase will be declared on February 22, while the third phase results will be announced on February 25 at 9 AM. Similarly, the results for Jila Panchayat members will be declared at the district headquarters on February 20 for the first phase, February 23 for the second phase, and February 25 for the third phase.
As per the State Election Commission, polling for the second phase will take place on February 20 across 43 development blocks in the state. These include Bilha in Bilaspur district, Pendra in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Lormi in Mungeli, Nawagarh in Janjgir-Champa, and Malkharoda in Sakti district. Other areas include Podi-Uproda in Korba district, Kharsia and Dharamjaigarh in Raigarh district, Bilaigarh in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, and several others across multiple districts.
Polling will also be conducted in Dharsiwa and Tilda-Neora in Raipur district, Kasdol in Balodabazar, Chhura in Gariaband, Pithora and Bagbahara in Mahasamund, Kurud in Dhamtari, and several other regions. In Bastar division, polling will take place in areas like Bastar, Lohandiguda, Bhanupratappur, Durgukondal, Katekalyan, Chhindgarh, and Bhopalpattanam, among others.
With all arrangements in place, the second phase of polling is set to proceed smoothly in these development blocks. Voting will be conducted from 7 AM to 3 PM, while in the Bastar division, polling hours will be from 6:45 AM to 2 PM. State Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh assured that the election process will be free, fair, and transparent, ensuring active voter participation.
