CM Vishnu Dev Sai , today visited the Manovikas Kendra at the Agricultural Produce Market Complex at Balodabazar. He interacted with the children with special needs, enquired about their progress and took feedback from the parents. The Chief Minister got emotional on seeing the yoga, music and cultural programmes presented by the children and appreciated their talent with a free voice.
CM Vishnu Dev Sai appreciated the administrative initiative to reuse the building, which was earlier a COVID centre, as a psycho-development centre and termed it as an exemplary example. He said that such efforts strengthen the spirit of inclusiveness and compassion in the society, which is indeed a true service to humanity.
On the occasion, special child Shesh Sahu enthralled the Chief Minister by chanting Gayatri Mantra while Somnath Sahu presented Jasgeet on the beats of Dholak. The Chief Minister also particularly praised the Surya Namaskar Yoga performance by Neelkamal, Pushkar, Somnath and Shesh, calling it a testimony to the physical and mental strength of the children.
Psycho-development center: a symbol of dedication, sensitivity and empowerment
Set up in January 2025, the Centre for Psychological Development at Balodabazar has emerged as an effective institution for holistic development and rehabilitation of children with special needs. The centre is being run with CSR funds of Ambuja Adani Cement Plant and is currently providing special education, medical assistance, vocational training and skill development to more than 40 children.
Children are trained in skills such as physiotherapy, speech and behaviour therapy, psychological counselling, tailoring, computer literacy and gardening. At the same time, they are being motivated towards becoming self-reliant through sports and cultural activities.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ramvir, SDM Sangrur Yashpal Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (UT) Devdarshdeep Singh, EO Ramesh Kumar, all local Congress leaders, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
