Haryana government has intensified the HPV Vaccination Campaign as part of its mission to prevent cervical cancer among adolescent girls. The initiative is being implemented in a phased and organized manner across the state to ensure maximum coverage and effective immunization.
State-Level Review Meeting Strengthens Implementation
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi chaired a state-level steering committee meeting to review the progress of the HPV Vaccination Campaign . During the meeting, he emphasized the need for expanding the campaign and ensuring its effective execution across all districts.
He directed health officials to strengthen coordination at the ground level so that the HPV Vaccination Campaign reaches every eligible beneficiary without delay.

Target of Over 2.26 Lakh Adolescent Girls
According to the health department, the HPV Vaccination Campaign aims to cover approximately 2.26 lakh girls in the age group of 14–15 years. To support this large-scale initiative, around 2.28 lakh vaccine doses have already been arranged to ensure uninterrupted rollout.
Officials confirmed that the HPV Vaccination Campaign is being closely monitored to achieve timely completion of all targets.
Over 13,500 Girls Already Vaccinated
Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, stated that more than 13,500 adolescent girls have already been vaccinated as of April 22. She added that the HPV Vaccination Campaign is gaining momentum and is expected to expand rapidly in the coming weeks.
She further highlighted that continuous efforts are being made to ensure the success of the HPV Vaccination Campaign across both rural and urban areas.
Focus on Awareness and Accessibility
The government is also focusing on awareness campaigns to improve participation in the HPV Vaccination Campaign. Schools, health centers, and community outreach programs are being used to educate parents and adolescents about the importance of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.
Authorities believe that strong awareness will significantly enhance the reach of the HPV Vaccination Campaign.
