AAP leader Manish Sisodia slams BJP at Rajkot press conference, declaring Gujarat is not their slave. He targets education and corruption ahead of 2026 elections.
In a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia addressed a packed Manish Sisodia Rajkot press conference today. With Gujarat heading into crucial Municipal Corporation, Taluka, and District Panchayat elections, Sisodia claimed that the state is ready for a historic shift, moving away from decades of “dictatorship and arrogance.”
A Fight Against 30 Years of Dictatorship
Addressing the media, Sisodia emphasized that these elections are not just about winning seats but about restoring the dignity of the people. He stated that for the last 30 years, the BJP has operated with a sense of entitlement, treating the public as “slaves.”
“The people of Rajkot want to tell the BJP through their votes that they are not anyone’s property. For 30 years, there was a lack of a strong alternative. The Congress only fought elections to lose, with their candidates often being decided at the BJP headquarters,” Sisodia remarked during the Manish Sisodia Rajkot press conference.
Allegations of Corruption and the Rajkot Tragedy
The AAP leader brought up the tragic incident in Rajkot that claimed 27 lives, including 9 children. He alleged that despite clear evidence of BJP leaders’ involvement, no significant action was taken. Sisodia claimed that the government sacrificed a few low-ranking officials to shield the real culprits because the BJP believes they are untouchable in Gujarat.
He further slammed the “extortion culture” in the city, alleging that BJP councilors openly demand money from citizens looking to build homes or shops. This systemic corruption, he argued, is exactly what the AAP aims to dismantle.

Education and Health: The AAP Challenge
Focusing on his core strength, education, Sisodia challenged the BJP to show even a single government school in Rajkot from which a student has cleared NEET or JEE.
Dilapidated Infrastructure: He noted that while some buildings might have been painted recently, the quality of education remains dismal.
Privatization Bias: He accused the BJP of intentionally ruining government schools to force parents to pay ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 in monthly fees at private institutions.
University Concerns: He highlighted the decline of Saurashtra University, mentioning reports of drug-related activities on campus instead of academic excellence.
BJP’s “Final Phase of Hooliganism”
As the election fever peaks, Sisodia claimed that the BJP has entered its “last stage of goons-style politics.” He alleged that AAP workers and candidates are being targeted with false FIRs, threats, and even incidents of firing in some areas.
“They are using the ED, CBI, and local police to intimidate us because they are scared,” he said. Referencing statements from BJP leaders like C.R. Paatil, who claimed AAP wouldn’t win even 27 seats, Sisodia retorted that the BJP should worry about their own 30-year record of failures rather than AAP’s numbers.
Confidence in a “Full Majority”
The Manish Sisodia Rajkot press conference concluded with a strong note of confidence. Sisodia pointed out that AAP’s vote share has been steadily rising—from 18% to 23% in previous cycles—and predicted a full majority for the party in Rajkot this time.
He dismissed BJP’s ” (Hawala) allegations against AAP in Surat, arguing that if such activities existed, it was a failure of the BJP’s 30-year-long administration. He challenged the government to release full month-long CCTV footage of the areas in question rather than selective clips.
As Rajkot prepares to vote on April 26, the Manish Sisodia Rajkot press conference has set the stage for a fierce battle, positioning the Aam Aadmi Party as the primary challenger to the long-standing BJP stronghold.
