Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to the fallen heroes, highlighting their ultimate sacrifice in safeguarding the nation’s democracy.
Other dignitaries, including Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, joined in honoring the security personnel. Leaders from both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and opposition parties remembered the martyrs for their valor and patriotism.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the courage of the Parliament security personnel, stating, “The terrorist attack on 13 December 2001 was a brutal assault on India’s sovereignty and democracy. The heroes who laid down their lives to protect the Parliament and the nation will forever be remembered. Jai Hind!”

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) paid tribute to Constable Kamlesh Kumari of the 88 Battalion, who displayed extraordinary bravery during the attack. Despite heavy firing, she provided critical intelligence to her fellow officers, enabling the neutralization of all five terrorists. She was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra for her supreme sacrifice.
On 13 December 2001, five heavily armed terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) attacked the Parliament complex in New Delhi. The assault, which occurred shortly after Parliament adjourned, claimed the lives of 14 people, including security personnel and one civilian, while over 100 members were present in the building.
The Lok Sabha also paid tribute to the brave soldiers of the Parliament Security Service, Delhi Police, and CRPF on the anniversary of the attack. Speaker Om Birla led the House in honoring the martyrs, reaffirming India’s unwavering commitment to protecting its unity, sovereignty, and democracy, while remaining resolute in the fight against terrorism.
