The Punjab Government has highlighted the progress of its Punjab Anti-Drug Campaign, stating that strict action against drug traffickers has resulted in a substantial increase in heroin seizures over the past four years.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said the government’s crackdown on narcotics is reflected in the seizure data. According to the figures shared, 6,608 kilograms of heroin have been seized during the four years of the Bhagwant Mann-led government.
Government Compares Heroin Seizure Figures
Referring to the data, Dr. Balbir Singh said that during the previous 15 years under earlier governments, authorities seized 5,229 kilograms of heroin. In comparison, the current government claims that 6,608 kilograms have been recovered in just four years.
The minister said these figures demonstrate the intensity of the ongoing Punjab Anti-Drug Campaign and reflect the government’s commitment to taking action against drug trafficking networks operating in the state.

According to the government, the Punjab Anti-Drug Campaign remains one of its top priorities, with law enforcement agencies continuing operations against drug smugglers and traffickers.
