The Punjab crop damage relief package covers varying levels of crop loss, including partial damage ranging from 26% to complete destruction. Officials reported that 61,115 acres suffered 33%–75% damage, while 30,588 acres were completely devastated. Another 992 acres recorded losses between 26%–32%, highlighting the extensive impact of the hailstorm.
According to government data, Fazilka district received the highest share of the Punjab crop damage relief package, followed by Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Moga, and Amritsar. Smaller compensation amounts were also allocated to Ferozepur and Rupnagar districts based on verified losses and severity of impact.
Minister Mundian stated that the Punjab crop damage relief package has been designed to ensure transparency and fairness, with compensation directly linked to the extent of damage assessed at the village level. He also instructed Deputy Commissioners to complete all remaining formalities quickly so that funds can be transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts without delay.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, he added that the Punjab crop damage relief package reflects the state’s responsibility to stand with farmers during natural calamities and ensure timely support. The initiative is expected to provide significant relief to thousands of farming families struggling with financial losses caused by unpredictable weather conditions.
