Punjab launches Post-Matric Scholarship Portal for SC students. Dr Baljit Kaur urges applications by Nov 15 via NSP portal for higher education support.
Punjab Government has officially launched the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme portal for Scheduled Caste (SC) students for the academic session 2026–27, reinforcing its commitment to accessible and inclusive higher education across the state.
Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Affairs Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur announced that the scheme is now available through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), making the application process more transparent, efficient, and student-friendly.
Portal Active from July 1
The minister informed that the online portal became operational from July 1, 2026, allowing eligible students to begin submitting applications. She urged students to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
Application Deadline: November 15
Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the last date for submitting applications is November 15, 2026, while corrections in defective applications can be made until November 30, 2026. Institutional verification will also conclude on November 30, followed by final verification by district and state authorities by December 15, 2026.

Focus on Equal Educational Opportunities
The minister emphasized that financial limitations should never stop deserving students from pursuing higher education. She said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to building an equitable and educated society in line with the vision of “Rangla Punjab.”
She added that ensuring educational support for SC students remains a top priority for promoting social justice and reducing inequality.
Reducing Financial Burden on Families
Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that the scholarship scheme aims not only to provide financial assistance but also to improve access to quality education and employment opportunities. This initiative is expected to ease the financial burden on economically weaker families and support youth in building stable careers within Punjab.
Awareness and Implementation Drive
To ensure maximum outreach, district-level officials have been directed to organize awareness camps in rural, urban, and remote areas. Various education departments, including technical, medical, and school education wings, have also been instructed to assist students in completing applications and documentation.
The minister reiterated that the Punjab Government remains fully committed to ensuring that no eligible student is left behind due to lack of information or procedural barriers, strengthening the state’s push toward inclusive educational development.
