Shaheedi Diwas: Mann Targets Political Leadership
Addressing a gathering on Shaheedi Diwas, the Chief Minister accused past leaders of prioritizing personal glorification over honoring true martyrs. He said that many politicians built grand memorials in their own names but did little to recognize the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh and his comrades.
He also criticized statements suggesting that India achieved real independence only in recent years, calling such claims an insult to the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle.
“India Would Have Been Different Under Bhagat Singh”
Speaking on Shaheedi Diwas, Mann said that if Bhagat Singh had been India’s first Prime Minister, the country’s trajectory would have been entirely different. He emphasized that youth leadership could have transformed India into a global leader much earlier.
He added that handing over the reins of the country to young leaders after independence could have made India the number one nation in the world today.
Hussainiwala Heritage Project Launched
Marking Shaheedi Diwas, CM Mann laid the foundation stone of the ₹24.99 crore Hussainiwala Heritage Complex. The project aims to preserve the legacy of the martyrs and promote tourism in Punjab.
