Students in U.P. government elementary schools in classes 1 and 2 will receive NCERT books starting on June 25.
Students in U.P. government elementary schools: These books are being used for elementary education for the first time, and pupils will receive them for free two months after the new school year begins.
Students in classes 1 and 2 at more than a lakh government-run elementary schools in the state will receive free books 2.5 months after the new academic year begins.
In grades 1 and 2, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) texts are being used for the first time.
According to officials, the reason for the delay in book distribution was that the texts needed to be revised to fit the needs of Uttar Pradesh, and approval from the UP Basic Education Council was also required.
The new academic year began on April 1, and while textbooks for classes 3 through 8 were issued, pupils in classes 1 and 2 are still waiting for their books.
Publishers received the work order for free textbooks at the end of May, as per government regulations.
According to Praveen Kumar Tiwari of Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), books will begin to arrive on June 20 and will be given to children when schools resume on June 25 following the summer holiday.
When schools reopen in Prayagraj alone, he claimed, more than 95,000 children in grades 1 and 2 would receive their textbooks.
There will be twenty textbooks and worksheets for grades one and two. Books in Hindi titled “Sarangi,” English titled “Mridang,” and Mathematics titled “Anandamay Ganith” are being printed, together with the corresponding workbooks.
The Urdu language book “Shehnai” and the mathematics book “Anandamay Riyazi” are both being released for students studying in Urdu. The book “Joyful Mathematics” has been released for students studying mathematics in an English-medium school.
