Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that the success of any event depends on collective efforts. When these efforts are made in a positive direction, they become an inspiration for society and promote progress. Terming Mahakumbh as an integral part of India’s ancient cultural heritage, he said that Mahakumbh-2025 attracted lakhs of devotees and tourists from across the country and abroad, which was an unforgettable and wonderful moment. The Chief Minister described it as his privilege to be associated with the event.
CM Yogi Adityanath was speaking at the felicitation ceremony of sanitation workers of Mahakumbh-2025, which was organised by news channel Bharat Samachar. On the occasion, he felicitated the sanitation workers by showering flowers on them. He said that often after a big event, people who contributed to its foundation are forgotten, but sanitation workers have played an important role in the success of Mahakumbh. As a result of this, the divine and grand organization of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj was possible. The Chief Minister congratulated Bharat Samachar for organizing this felicitation function and termed it as the first media organization after the state government to felicitate sanitation workers.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that bathing in the Mahakumbh has been a special attraction for Indians living abroad for years. Prayagraj Mahakumbh fulfilled this aspiration, with devotees from different countries, including the US, Canada, Australia and the UK, coming to join their parents in the religious event. During this period, the number of devotees has reached 66 crore 30 lakh. Referring to the visitors appreciating the cleanliness and safety at the Mahakumbh, the Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event was satisfactory, clean and well organised.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the government ensured that devotees do not have to travel long distances for Sangam Snan, for which 5000 acres of land was reserved for parking. However, due to overcrowding, the parking lots were full, forcing the devotees to walk some distance, but they gladly accepted it and considered it a part of their faith. The Chief Minister described it as a sense of gratitude to Sanatan Dharma and said that Bharat Samachar is expressing this sentiment through the felicitation of sanitation workers.
CM Yogi Adityanath informed that 24 crore devotees had attended the Kumbh of the year 2019, while the number increased three times in the Mahakumbh-2025, making it the largest spiritual and religious event in human history. Describing it as an excellent example of crowd management, he said that the event has established a wonderful balance between faith and livelihood.
Yogi Adityanath said that under the ‘Namami Gange’ campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts have been made to revive the river culture of the country. After the conclusion of the event, on 27th February, he himself participated in the campaign to clean Ganga and Yamuna. This was followed by a lunch in honour of the sanitation workers, in which their demand for minimum wages was announced to be met and implemented soon. Bonuses were also announced for them.
CM Yogi Adityanath exhorted the sanitation workers to educate their children and guide them in the right direction. He said that no work is small or big, but a person’s thinking takes him to great heights. Quoting the thoughts of Sant Ravidas ji, he said that ‘Mann Changa to Kathauti Mein Ganga, “that is, if the mind is pure, then the grace of Ganga is accessible.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the organization of Mahakumbh-2025 has also given impetus to the development of Prayagraj. During this period, 14 new flyovers, 9 underpasses, more than 200 widened roads and 9 corridors were developed in the city. He informed that a new corridor has been built in honour of Maharishi Bharadwaj and Akshaya Vat has been opened for devotees. Similarly, places associated with Bade Hanuman Temple, Nagavasuki Temple and Nishadraj have also been connected with the corridor.
