Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said that only a healthy person can contribute to building a healthy society.
CM Yogi : Only a healthy person can play his role in building a strong society and a capable nation. If the person will not be healthy, how the system will be healthy. Development will come to a standstill if the system is unhealthy. In the last eight and a half years, the health department has taken a big leap. Every sector has seen some changes. This transformation is part of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modis vision of a developed India.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a function after handing over appointment letters to 1,112 junior clerks and 22 X-ray technicians of the Health Department, selected under a fair and transparent process under Mission Rozgar, here today.
Congratulating the newly selected candidates, he said that all of you have been selected through a fair and transparent recruitment process. The fair and transparent recruitment process presents a new picture of the state. An example of this is the medical education, medical and health department. The government also expects you to provide better services to the needy with sensitivity and respect. There should not be any discrimination against them. If every citizen discharges his responsibilities honestly, it will not take long for the country to become a developed India and the world’s biggest power. We all need to work on it together.
The Chief Minister said that under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, excellent work is being done in the fields of health, education, agricultural development, water resources, employment, skill development, emerging technology. The state decided to move forward fulfilling all the standards required for development. As a result, more than 8.5 lakh youth have been appointed in various departments of the state through a transparent and fair recruitment process in the last eight and a half years. The recruitment process in the state is being completed on time.
Recruitment of 2 lakh 19 thousand police personnel has been successfully completed in the last 8 years. The recently recruited 60,244 police personnel are receiving excellent training in the training centers located in the state. The Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) has been successfully conducted in the state recently. Candidates who clear this exam will get an opportunity to join the recruitment process of the state government departments.
The Chief Minister said that the recruitment of 1,354 staff nurses, 7,182 ANMs, 1,102 specialist doctors, 278 associate professors of the Medical Education Department and 2,142 staff nurses of medical institutions under the Health Department has been successfully completed and the appointment letters have been given. All of them are contributing to the development of Uttar Pradesh. Before 2017, there were 17 medical colleges in the state. Today their number has increased to more than 80. A large number of youth have got employment in these medical colleges. People are getting good health facilities. The ‘One District One Medical College’ scheme is becoming the identity of the state.
The Chief Minister said that more than 80 lakh people in the state are getting the benefit of Ayushman Card. For this, the state government along with the central government has paid an amount of about 3 thousand crore rupees for 3 better medical facilities to the poor. Recently, the state government has announced cashless treatment for teachers. Facilities like blood bank, ICU, mini ICU, digital X-ray, blood separator and dialysis are available in every district of the state. Technicians and paramedics are the backbone of any medical institution. If the junior assistants forward the file of the needy people in time, then the people can get health facilities in the stipulated time. X-ray technicians can contribute to the operation and maintenance of the machines.
The Chief Minister said that there were 5,390 MBBS seats in the state before 2017. Now their number has increased to 11,850 i.e. more than double. The number of PG seats has increased from 1,344 to 4,028. The number of super speciality seats has also been increased from 120 to 305. In the government sector, 1,284 medical teachers have been appointed since April 2017. The number of DNB seats has doubled in the last one year.

The annual turnover of U.P.M.S.C.L. in 2017-18 was Rs.83 crore which has increased to Rs.1,390 crore in 2024-25. Earlier in this season, hospitals used to be full of patients of encephalitis, malaria, dengue, kalajar, chikungunya, etc. The disease is now completely under control. These things show that when good steps are taken by the government, good results do not take time to come.
The Chief Minister said that due to the excellent law and order situation in the state, people celebrate festivals with enthusiasm and gaiety. The harmonious atmosphere of the state is giving strength to national unity. This congenial atmosphere is also becoming a vehicle for the development of the state. By the end of this financial year, the state’s economy is going to be worth Rs 35 lakh crore. We have achieved this success as a result of guaranteeing employment to the youth of the state at the local level and conducting a fair and transparent recruitment process.
