Bollywood and Tollywood star Prabhas has launched the Script Craft International Short Film Festival, a platform designed to give aspiring storytellers and filmmakers worldwide a chance to showcase their talent. The festival, officially unveiled on Tuesday, promises to nurture the next generation of cinematic visionaries.
A Platform Where Stories Become Careers
Sharing a video on Instagram, Prabhas said, “The Script Craft isn’t just a festival—it’s where stories become careers.” The initiative aims to provide filmmakers with exposure, recognition, and opportunities to have their work seen by leading production houses.
Festival Details: Open to All Genres and Filmmakers
The Script Craft Festival accepts short films of two minutes and above, irrespective of genre. Support from Industry Veterans
The festival has received backing from prominent filmmakers Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Nag Ashwin, and Hanu Raghavapudi, who also featured in the announcement video.
Vanga remarked, “Making a short film is the most important aspect of pursuing filmmaking. Whatever you achieve on paper and what you achieve on screen are two different realities. Now is the perfect time for aspirants to enroll and make the most of this opportunity.”
Nag Ashwin added, “I discovered Anudeep through a short film on YouTube, and that’s how ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ happened. More than film school, your work and understanding of it is what matters. I encourage everyone to submit and make their best films.”
A Global Stage for Aspiring Filmmakers
A spokesperson from Script Craft emphasized, “We believe the next visionary filmmaker can come from anywhere. This platform gives every storyteller a voice, a stage, and the chance to be seen by global audiences and leading production houses.”
Founded by Thaalla Vaishnav and Pramod Uppalapati, Script Craft focuses on supporting writers, storytellers, and directors, providing them a professional platform to showcase their creativity. The festival highlights the growing significance of short films as a stepping stone for filmmakers seeking to make a mark in the global cinema landscape.
With industry heavyweights backing the initiative and Prabhas lending his star power, the Script Craft International Short Film Festival is poised to become one of the most important avenues for new talent in 2026.
