As Finance Minister, CM Nayab Saini will present the 2026-27 state budget. The previous budget was around ₹2.05 lakh crore, and this year’s allocation is projected to rise to ₹2.25 lakh crore, reflecting the state government’s developmental priorities.
With Holi falling on March 4, the Haryana government aims to present and finalize the budget before the festival. Last year, the budget session began on March 7 and continued until March 28. This year, the session is likely to conclude by March 20, with at least 14 sittings expected compared to 12 in previous sessions.
After the budget presentation, legislative committees will deliberate on key proposals. In the February 2 meeting, the cabinet will only determine the budget session’s start date, while the Business Advisory Committee of the Haryana Assembly will decide the exact duration and schedule of the session.
The early start and timely conclusion of the budget session demonstrate the state government’s commitment to effective governance and transparency, ensuring that financial planning and legislative discussions align with the state’s developmental goals.
