In a landmark announcement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared an increase in the allowance for thousands of Anganwadi and ASHA workers across Uttar Pradesh. The announcement came during the discussion on the Governor’s address in the State Legislative Council, underlining the state government’s commitment to improving social welfare and women empowerment.
The CM emphasized that the government is actively working for educators, including Shiksha Mitras, instructors, cooks, and teachers, providing cashless medical facilities up to INR 5 lakh starting April. “Our government believes in satisfaction over appeasement. Over six crore people have been lifted above poverty,” CM Yogi stated.
Strengthening Law & Order and Women Empowerment
CM Yogi highlighted the progress in law and order, noting the shift from a “fear zone” to a “faith zone” in Uttar Pradesh. He added that women now work safely during night shifts and return home securely. The government has also focused on modern policing, cyber and forensic infrastructure, youth-focused programs, and women’s empowerment initiatives, setting a record level of police recruitment.

Digital Governance and Electoral Integrity
Targeting opposition parties, the CM criticized the Samajwadi Party for undermining constitutional institutions and creating chaos. He cited issues with SIR processes, absentee voters, and fraudulent polling claims in earlier years, emphasizing the need for integrity in governance.
Economic Growth, Industry & Employment
Highlighting the state’s economic achievements, CM Yogi stated that Uttar Pradesh has strengthened its presence in tourism, hospitality, and defense manufacturing sectors. The state is rapidly advancing in AI robotics, advanced computing, semiconductors, drones, cybersecurity, and electric vehicles, embracing automation and data-driven decision systems.
Recently, the first electric vehicle manufacturing unit was inaugurated in Lucknow, further bolstering investment and innovation. Currently, Uttar Pradesh accounts for over 19% of all electric vehicles in India and more than 40% of three-wheeler sales, benefiting from FAME-I and FAME-II initiatives.
Youth Empowerment and Startup Growth
Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a surge in youth-led initiatives under Skill India, Startup India, and Standup India programs. Over 20,000 startups are active, along with 7 Centers of Excellence and 8 unicorns, demonstrating the state’s leadership in innovation and entrepreneurship. CM Yogi noted, “When youth move towards self-reliance, unemployment naturally declines. From over 19% in 2017, UP’s unemployment rate has now dropped to 2.24%.”
