Badshah Tateeree controversy: Haryana Women’s Commission seeks arrest of rapper Badshah over controversial Tateeree song. Know the latest updates, FIRs, and police actions.
The Haryana State Commission for Women has escalated its action against rapper Badshah over his controversial Haryanvi music video, Tateeree. The Commission issued a request for the rapper’s arrest and the seizure of his passport after he failed to appear before them by the deadline of March 13.
The controversy, widely referred to as the Badshah Tateeree controversy, centers on the alleged objectionable lyrics and visuals in the music video, which were said to insult women and girls from Haryana. Chairperson Renu Bhatia had previously warned Badshah of strict action if he did not comply with the summons.
“I have ordered SP Panipat to get Badshah arrested from anywhere, any place and issue search orders,” said Renu Bhatia. “The song contains inappropriate language and visuals that disrespect Haryana daughters. FIRs have already been registered in Panchkula and Jind.”
Despite multiple notifications, Badshah did not appear before the Commission. His legal representatives requested additional time, claiming that the summons had not reached them, but the Commission rejected the request, intensifying the Badshah Tateeree controversy.

Following public backlash, Badshah issued an apology on Instagram and removed the video from online platforms. The rapper stated that he regretted hurting the sentiments of his audience and assured that the song Tateeree would no longer be available.
Authorities in Panchkula have initiated a look-out circular to prevent Badshah from leaving the country. Police teams are conducting continuous raids at possible locations to ensure compliance with the Commission’s orders.
The Tateeree music video drew criticism for showing minor girls in school uniforms throwing away their school bags and using the word “Badshala,” which was deemed misleading and inappropriate in depicting education. Officials also pointed out that the song contained derogatory expressions toward women and girls, fueling the Badshah Tateeree controversy further.
The Haryana Police and Women’s Commission have reaffirmed their commitment to take strict action against any content that violates women’s rights, sending a strong message to artists about accountability in public media.
The Badshah Tateeree controversy continues to dominate social media discussions as authorities closely monitor the rapper’s movements to ensure legal action is taken.
