AAP’s chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today held a press conference in Chandigarh, sharply criticizing the Shiromani Akali Dal for allegedly promoting a ‘gangster model’ in Punjab politics.
Speaking to the media, Dhaliwal said, “After appointing gangster’s wife Kanchanpreet as the in-charge of Tarn Taran constituency, it is clear that Sukhbir Badal wants to introduce the ‘Sukhbir model’ in Punjab, which brings criminals into mainstream politics. If Akali Dal insists on this, they might as well give tickets to supporters of Ram Rahim too.”
He further challenged the Akali leaders:
Give tickets to those involved in scams with Sri Darbar Sahib’s charity funds.
Nominate those accused of stealing 328 copies of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Include former leaders who pardoned Ram Rahim as candidates.
Dhaliwal emphasized that by giving tickets to gangsters, the Akali Dal is prioritizing personal political interests over the welfare of Punjab’s citizens. He asserted that AAP would always stand for the people and the law, opposing criminalization in politics at every level.
