CM Yogi Adityanath bans public sacrifice and road namaz during Bakrid in UP, introduces weekly chaupals for quick grievance redressal.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has issued strict directives ahead of Bakrid and Ganga Dussehra, stating that animal sacrifice in public places and prayers on roads will not be allowed under any circumstances.
The instructions were given during a high-level law and order and administrative review meeting held via video conferencing on Sunday, where senior officials were present.
No Public Animal Sacrifice, Only Designated Places Allowed
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clarified that during Bakrid, animal sacrifice will be permitted only at pre-approved and designated locations. Any form of sacrifice in public areas will be strictly prohibited.
He further directed that:
No sacrifice of banned animals will be allowed
Illegal slaughterhouses must be shut down immediately
Open sale of meat in public places is prohibited
Licensed slaughterhouses must not exceed their capacity
No Roadside Namaz, Worship Only at Designated Locations
The Chief Minister also ordered that namaz must be offered only at traditional and designated places. Offering prayers on roads or blocking public movement will not be permitted.
Officials have been instructed to ensure strict enforcement so that public inconvenience is avoided.
Weekly “Public Grievance Chaupal” Announced
In a major administrative reform, the Chief Minister announced weekly “chaupals” at the block level to resolve public grievances quickly.
These camps will address:
Revenue disputes
Cases of domestic violence
Illegal extortion complaints
Unregistered police grievances
Issues related to welfare scheme benefits
Officials at the district level will be required to be present at these sessions to ensure on-the-spot resolution.

Strict Action on Complaints and Helpline Cases
The Yogi Adityanath emphasized that complaints received through IGRS and the CM Helpline must be resolved effectively, not just formally closed.
He stated that every complaint should result in real relief for citizens, and accountability will be fixed for negligence.
Security Measures for Festivals Strengthened
Ahead of upcoming festivals, including Bakrid and Ganga Dussehra, the Chief Minister directed special security arrangements across the state.
Key instructions include:
Police flag marches in sensitive areas
Increased patrolling near religious places
Proper arrangements for electricity, sanitation, and safety
Crowd management and ambulance deployment at key locations
Crackdown on Illegal Mining and Road Safety Violations
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took a strict stance on illegal mining and road safety violations. He ordered:
Action against vehicles without number plates
Formation of special task forces against illegal mining
Strict enforcement under a zero-tolerance policy
Focus on Law, Order, and Administrative Discipline
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also directed intensified action against land mafia and illegal encroachments while ensuring that no legitimate rights of citizens are affected.
He also instructed that vacant Chief Medical Officer posts in districts must be filled immediately to strengthen the healthcare system.
