Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday released the ‘Solar Awareness Booklet’ prepared by the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) at the camp office. The initiative is being seen as a significant step towards promoting clean energy awareness and strengthening the state’s commitment to a sustainable future.
The Chief Minister said that the release of the Solar Awareness Booklet is not just a formal event, but a symbol of Uttarakhand’s collective resolve to build a green, self-reliant, and energy-secure future.

Major Achievement Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana
CM Dhami highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has successfully achieved its initial target of 40,000 rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, well before the scheduled timeline.
He further stated that from 2024 to the present, Uttarakhand has recorded nearly a 10-fold increase in its solar energy capacity within just two years, marking a major milestone in the state’s renewable energy journey.
Push for Clean and Renewable Energy
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is continuously working to promote solar and renewable energy adoption among citizens. The objective is to provide clean, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions while reducing dependency on conventional power sources.
Presence of Public Representatives
The event was also attended by MLA Suresh Garia, who participated in discussions regarding the importance of solar energy and its future role in Uttarakhand’s development strategy.
