Jaipur, Rajasthan witnessed a landmark moment in its development journey as the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the Yamuna water project was officially signed, paving the way for improved water availability across the state. The project is expected to significantly address long-standing water scarcity issues affecting drinking water, irrigation, and industrial needs, especially in the Shekhawati region.

Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma described the occasion as deeply emotional and historic, stating that generations of families have waited for decades for Yamuna water to reach Rajasthan. He said the agreement represents not just a policy decision but a victory of hope, struggle, and determination of millions of people.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the shortage of water has long slowed down development across several sectors in the state. With the implementation of this project, Rajasthan is expected to enter a new phase of water security and sustainable growth.

He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah for making the initiative possible. He also acknowledged the contributions of the central government, Rajasthan administration, and partner states in bringing the agreement to fruition.

The Chief Minister further stated that this project will transform Rajasthan’s future by strengthening agriculture, improving drinking water supply, and boosting industrial development. He expressed confidence that future generations will remember this moment as a turning point in the state’s history.

The initiative also received appreciation for the efforts of Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C. R. Patil and Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, whose cooperation helped move the project forward.

Officials believe that the Yamuna water project will play a crucial role in addressing Rajasthan’s water challenges and ensuring long-term regional development, particularly in drought-prone areas.
