AAP Punjab President Aman Arora questions Amit Shah ahead of the Moga rally, raising eight key issues including Punjab funds, GST losses, flood relief, industry crisis, drug trafficking and LPG prices.
Ahead of the upcoming rally of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Moga, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora raised eight major issues concerning the state and demanded clear answers from the BJP-led central government.
During a press conference in Chandigarh, Aman Arora Questions Amit Shah over key concerns including withheld state funds, GST losses, flood relief, industry challenges, drug trafficking, employment schemes and the rising prices of LPG cylinders. Arora stated that the people of Punjab expect accountability and policy clarity rather than political slogans.
Punjab Expects Accountability from the Centre
Addressing the media, Aman Arora said that Punjabis have always welcomed leaders with respect, but this time the visit of the Union Home Minister should not be limited to political rhetoric. According to him, nearly three crore Punjabis are waiting for answers to critical economic and governance issues.
He emphasized that Aman Arora Questions Amit Shah are not merely political remarks but represent the genuine concerns of the people of Punjab. Arora also pointed out that he had raised these issues earlier and expected the BJP leadership in Punjab to respond before Amit Shah’s visit. However, no clarification had been provided so far.
₹8,300 Crore Punjab Funds Withheld
One of the key issues raised by Arora relates to the withholding of ₹8,300 crore belonging to Punjab under the Rural Development Fund (RDF) and Market Development Fund (MDF).
He questioned the Centre on the legal basis for withholding these funds for nearly four years. According to Arora, this money is meant for rural development and welfare projects that directly benefit farmers and villagers. The demand to release these funds forms an important part of Aman Arora Questions Amit Shah before the Moga rally.
Massive GST Losses for Punjab
Another major concern highlighted by the AAP leader was the financial loss suffered by Punjab after the expiry of the GST compensation mechanism.
Arora stated that the compensation was provided only for five years, leaving Punjab with losses estimated at nearly ₹60,000 crore. He questioned how the central government plans to compensate the state for this massive financial gap. This issue also features prominently in Aman Arora Questions Amit Shah regarding fiscal justice for Punjab.
Delay in Flood Relief for Punjab
Referring to the floods that affected several regions of the state, Arora reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier announced a relief package of ₹1,600 crore.
However, he said the funds have still not been released. Arora asked whether the Union Home Minister would bring clarity on the matter during his Moga visit. The delay in flood relief is another key issue highlighted in Aman Arora Questions Amit Shah.
India–US Trade Concerns and Impact on Farmers
Aman Arora also criticized what he described as a one-sided India–US trade arrangement. He argued that such agreements could negatively impact farmers and small businesses across the country.
Mentioning the role of the United States leadership under Donald Trump, Arora questioned why the Centre agreed to terms that might disadvantage Indian farmers and small traders.
Punjab Industry and Tax Benefits in Neighboring States
The AAP leader also highlighted the challenges faced by Punjab’s industrial sector due to tax incentives granted by the Centre to neighboring states such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
According to him, these incentives have shifted investments away from Punjab, placing local industries and traders at a disadvantage. He urged the Centre to announce relief measures for Punjab’s industrial sector.

Drug Trafficking and Border Security
Drug trafficking remains one of the most pressing challenges in the state. Arora stated that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched a strong campaign against drugs.
However, he emphasized that many narcotics enter through international borders and seaports under the control of central agencies. Arora asked what additional steps the Centre is taking to stop the flow of drugs into Punjab.
Concerns Over MGNREGA and Rising LPG Prices
Aman Arora also raised concerns about the reported move to discontinue the rural employment scheme Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and replace it with a new programme. He said the scheme has supported millions of rural workers and any change must ensure job security.
In addition, he criticized the rising prices of LPG cylinders and the supply issues being faced by citizens in several regions. According to him, long queues for cylinders are becoming common and the situation is causing distress for ordinary households.
Punjab Seeks Answers, Not Political Slogans
Concluding the press conference, Arora said that the eight questions represent the collective concerns of the people of Punjab. He urged the Union Home Minister to address these issues during his visit to the state.
He reiterated that Aman Arora Questions Amit Shah are intended to ensure accountability and transparency in governance. According to Arora, Punjab deserves clear answers and practical solutions rather than political rhetoric or “jumlas.”
