CM Yogi Adityanath attacks TMC in Hooghly on the final day of Bengal elections 2026 campaigning. Read his “Jai Shri Ram” vs “Kangal Bengal” statement here.
Hooghly: On the concluding day of the high-decibel West Bengal Assembly Election campaign, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Speaking at a massive rally in Hooghly on Monday, April 27, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the political tide has turned, asserting that even the SC-ST communities are now standing firmly against the ruling party.
“Jai Shri Ram” Echoes vs TMC’s Resistance
The Chief Minister highlighted the stark contrast between the administrative cultures of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. He noted that while the chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev” resonate freely in UP, the TMC leadership in Bengal appears intimidated by these slogans. According to the Bengal elections 2026 updates, Yogi claimed that Mamata Banerjee’s discomfort with religious slogans reflects a deeper disconnect with the state’s cultural roots.
“In Uttar Pradesh, we ensure the protection of ‘Gau Mata’ and have ended the era of riots. However, in Bengal, the TMC has turned a prosperous land into a ‘Kangal’ (impoverished) state over the last 15 years,” the CM remarked during the Bengal elections 2026 campaign trail.

Law and Order and “Jihad” Allegations
The firebrand leader did not hold back on sensitive issues, accusing the TMC of practicing appeasement politics. He alleged that while Durga Visarjan faced restrictions in the past, roads were often blocked for other religious activities. He further claimed that “Love Jihad” and “Land Jihad” are rampant in the state, yet the TMC remains a silent spectator.
He predicted a grim future for TMC workers post-results, stating, “After the first phase of Bengal elections 2026, fear has gripped the TMC camp. After the final results, these goons who used to capture booths will be seen repairing punctures on the streets.”
A Shift in Political Equations
The Bengal elections 2026 have seen an aggressive push from the BJP’s central leadership. Yogi Adityanath pointed out that the 2017 transformation of UP from a riot-prone state to a peaceful one is a model that Bengal voters are now yearning for. He insisted that the SC-ST society, which once formed a core vote bank, has now realized the “divisive tactics” of the TMC and is ready for a change.
As the curtains fall on the campaigning for the Bengal elections 2026, the Hooghly rally has set a polarizing and intense tone for the final phase of voting. All eyes are now on the EVMs to see if the “Yogi Model” and the “Jai Shri Ram” sentiment can breach the TMC’s fortress.
