CM Bhajan Lal : The budget will work to transform the promises made in the Prime Minister’s vision and resolution letter into reality.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State Budget 2025-26 has been presented in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the promises made in the Sankalp Patra. The government has fulfilled more than 58% of the promises made in the Sankalp Patra in its one year tenure. He described it as a budget dedicated to the welfare of the people and the overall development of the state.
In a press conference after the budget was presented by the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mrs. Diya Kumari in the Assembly, CM Bhajan Lal said that the government is based on the principles of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya,The government is working in accordance with the ideology of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Land has been allotted for 96% of the announcements in the revised budget presented in July, while administrative and financial approval has been given for more than 85% of the announcements.
He said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Modi, development of the country and the state is possible by upliftment of youth, women, farmers and workers. The budget is an important step towards making Rajasthan a $350 billion economy.
State’s first green budget
Rajasthan has now joined the list of leading states in the country to present a green budget. 11.34% of the budget has been allocated for the green budget to promote climate change, biodiversity, green energy and water conservation.
Promotion of drinking water and agriculture sector
The state government will work with the target of providing drinking water connection to 20 lakh houses next year. Chief Minister Jal Jeevan Mission will be started in urban areas, in which work will be done at a cost of Rs 5,830 crore.The amount of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers has been increased to Rs 9,000 per annum. The bonus on the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat has been increased from Rs 125 to Rs 150 per quintal.
Special focus on youth and employment
The ‘Rajasthan Employment Policy 2025’ will be implemented for the youth, under which Vivekananda Employment Assistance Centres will be set up at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Next year, 1.25 lakh government jobs will be given, while 1.5 lakh youth will get employment in the private sector.
Welfare Schemes for Women and weaker sections
20 lakh women will be benefitted under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme to empower women financially. Under the Mukhyamantri Amrit Aahar Yojana, milk will be provided to children in anganwadis five days a week. Pension plans have been increased to Rs 1,250 per month.
Major investments in tourism, health and infrastructure
Projects worth Rs 975 crore will be brought to boost the tourism sector. The Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Fund of Rs 3,500 crore will be set up for the expansion of health facilities. ‘Ma Netra Voucher Scheme ‘will be launched to provide free spectacles to workers like truck drivers, tailors, carpenters, barbers.
Development and Infrastructure of Newly Created Districts
A provision of Rs 1,000 crore has been made for setting up district level offices of all departments and development of infrastructure in the new districts. Agniveers will be given reservation in fire services.
Strengthening of energy and road networks
The ‘PM Surya Ghar Mukt Bijli Yojana’ will be implemented to provide free electricity up to 150 units in the state. 50,000 agricultural connections and 5 lakh domestic electricity connections will be given. More than Rs 5,000 crore will be spent for road development, while 9 green field expressways will be built, which will cost Rs 60,000 crore.
Social and Rural Development
‘Guru Golwalkar Blocks Development Scheme ‘will be implemented to accelerate development in the most backward 35 blocks of the state. Establishment of cooperative societies in more than 2,500 Gram Panchayats will be encouraged. The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Urban Development Scheme will be implemented with an outlay of Rs 12,050 crore.
CM Bhajan Lal said that this budget is based on the policy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and will play an important role in making Rajasthan a prosperous and inclusive state.
