Delhi-Jaipur Highway service lane closed until October 15 due to drainage work. Check the new route and diversion details for heavy vehicles.
Delhi-Jaipur Highway: Commuters travelling between Delhi, Gurugram and Jaipur should take note of a temporary traffic change. A service lane on the Delhi-to-Jaipur side has been closed because of ongoing construction work. The revised traffic arrangement will remain in place until October 15, 2026.
The affected stretch is located between the Rampura Chowk flyover and IMT Manesar Chowk in Gurugram. The closure began at 6 am on August 18, 2026, and motorists using this route will have to follow the alternative traffic arrangement during the construction period.
Why Has the Service Lane Been Closed?
The closure is linked to drainage infrastructure work rather than a permanent road restriction. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is carrying out construction of a stormwater drain along the Delhi-Jaipur Highway and areas covering Sectors 76 to 80.
The work is aimed at improving rainwater drainage and reducing waterlogging problems in the area. To facilitate construction and maintain safety around the work zone, traffic movement has been stopped on the affected portion of the service road.
New Route for Heavy Vehicles
The traffic diversion is particularly important for heavy vehicle operators. During the construction period, heavy vehicles travelling from below the Rampura Chowk flyover towards Naurangpur will not be allowed to continue directly along the closed service lane.
Instead, these vehicles will have to proceed towards the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza. From there, they will take a U-turn and continue towards their designated route.
Drivers of trucks and other heavy vehicles should therefore allow extra travel time and plan their journey accordingly.

Traffic Arrangement to Continue Till October 15
The temporary restriction on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway service lane is scheduled to remain effective until October 15, 2026. The arrangement has been introduced to allow the drainage construction work to progress safely.
Regular commuters should remain alert while approaching the Rampura Chowk and IMT Manesar areas. Following the diversion signs and allowing additional time for the journey can help avoid inconvenience.
What Commuters Need to Know
The Delhi-Jaipur Highway restriction applies to the specified service lane on the Delhi-to-Jaipur side between Rampura Chowk flyover and IMT Manesar Chowk.
The Delhi-Jaipur Highway traffic change will remain in effect for nearly two months. Heavy vehicles heading towards Naurangpur will need to use the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza and take a U-turn before continuing on the designated route.
The Delhi-Jaipur Highway commuters should keep the temporary diversion in mind until the construction work is completed or the traffic arrangement is revised by the authorities.
