Director Public Health Ravi Prakash: Sparsh leprosy awareness campaign started.
Ravi Prakash, Director of Public Health: “Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign” is being run by the Medical and Health Department from 30th January to 13th February with an aim to realize Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma’s vision of “Swasth Rajasthan.” The campaign was launched on Thursday on the occasion of Leprosy Day. Under the campaign, various programmes will be organized at district, block and panchayat levels for the prevention of leprosy.
Director Public Health Ravi Prakash said that on the occasion of Leprosy Day on January 30, the District Collector in all the districts circulated a message to make the public aware of leprosy. In the Gram Sabhas held on this day, the Sarpanch appealed to the members of the Gram Sabha to remove discrimination against persons affected by leprosy. Also, if a person was leprosy free he was honoured as a special guest. A quiz was also organised on the occasion to create awareness about leprosy.
Director Public Health Ravi Prakash informed that during the campaign, awareness activities regarding leprosy will be carried out at district, block and panchayat level through various media such as loud speakers, newspapers, TV, radio, posters, and pamphlets till February 13. Along with this, information will also be given on this subject in prayer meetings in schools and other government programs. He informed that necessary steps will be taken at all levels to make this year’s “Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign-2025” a success with the theme “Let’s together raise awareness, dispel misconceptions and ensure that no one affected by leprosy is left behind.”
