Arvind Kejriwal highlights AAP Punjab government initiatives for Sanatan Dharma, including pilgrimage tours and ₹80 crore redevelopment of Patiala’s Kali Mata Temple.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the AAP government in Punjab has taken significant steps related to religious tourism and initiatives associated with Sanatan Dharma.
Kejriwal made the remarks while addressing a bhajan sandhya dedicated to Lord Shiva in Phagwara, an event also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Kejriwal Highlights Religious and Pilgrimage Initiatives
During his address, Kejriwal claimed that the AAP government in Punjab has undertaken more work for Sanatan Dharma than previous governments. He highlighted the expansion of the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana as one of the initiatives undertaken by the state government.
According to Kejriwal, the scheme has been expanded to cover several prominent pilgrimage destinations, including Salasar-Shri Khatu Shyam, Haridwar-Rishikesh and Mathura-Vrindavan Dham.
He said there has been strong public demand for these pilgrimage routes and that a large number of devotees are expected to benefit from the programme.
1.5 Lakh Devotees to Be Taken on Pilgrimage
Kejriwal said the Punjab government plans to facilitate pilgrimage journeys for around 1.5 lakh devotees to the newly included destinations.
He also advised people interested in undertaking the pilgrimage to make their bookings in advance due to the expected demand and waiting lists.
