Naga Chaitanya opens up on why he hasn’t signed another Hindi film after Laal Singh Chaddha and shares his future plans in Bollywood.
South Indian star Naga Chaitanya has been one of the most promising actors in the Telugu film industry, but after his Bollywood debut with Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022 alongside Aamir Khan, fans have been eager to see him in Hindi cinema again. However, Naga Chaitanya has not signed another Hindi film since then. In a recent interview, he explained the reasons behind his absence and his plans for the future.
Why Naga Chaitanya Didn’t Return to Bollywood Yet
Addressing the delay, Naga Chaitanya said, “There is no specific reason. After that film, I’ve been fully engaged with projects in the South, which have taken up a lot of my time and energy. I’m definitely looking forward to an opportunity in Hindi again, but right now, my focus has been on these projects.”
Despite the lukewarm box office response of Laal Singh Chaddha, Naga Chaitanya clarified that it hasn’t changed his mindset. “Shooting for that film was an amazing experience. The team was incredibly warm, and I learned so much. The success or failure doesn’t dictate my choices; it’s always about the work and the journey,” he added.

Complex South Projects Keeping Him Busy
Currently, Naga Chaitanya is working on films like Thandel (2025) and Vrushakarma, which he describes as highly complex. He revealed, “I realized how complex Vrushakarma is only after we started filming because nearly 80% revolves around VFX. These projects demand intense pre-production and focus. I’m just giving my 100% to each script I take up. Some films take longer, some shorter, but at the end of the day, it’s the success and the quality of work that matters.”
Future Plans in Bollywood
When asked about his return to Hindi films, Naga Chaitanya emphasized that timing is not a factor. “It’s not about the right time but the right script. I’m an actor at heart, and I care more about the character and journey than language. Hindi, Telugu, or any other language doesn’t matter to me. I’m open to doing Hindi films again if the script excites me and I get to collaborate with filmmakers I admire,” he said.
Naga Chaitanya concluded by reaffirming his commitment to quality storytelling and taking on projects that challenge him creatively. His fans in both South and Hindi cinema are eagerly waiting for his next big move.
