AAP leader Pravin Ram met Valsad flood victims’ families and demanded ₹1 crore compensation for each deceased along with immediate relief and rehabilitation.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat leader and State Farmers’ Wing President Pravin Ram visited families who lost their loved ones during the devastating floods in Valsad, calling for immediate financial assistance and stronger government intervention for those affected by the disaster.
Emotional Meetings With Bereaved Families
During his visit, Pravin Ram met several families who lost family members in the recent floods. The meetings turned emotional as grieving relatives shared their experiences and the hardships they continue to face after the tragedy.
One of the most moving moments came when Ram met the mother of a 35-year-old man who was her only son. According to the family, the victim lost his life while attempting to rescue people trapped in rising floodwaters. Ram consoled the grieving mother and expressed concern over the family’s uncertain future.
“How Will These Families Survive?”
Speaking after the visit, Pravin Ram questioned the government’s response to the disaster, saying many affected families have been left without adequate support.
He pointed out that several victims were the sole earning members of their households and asked how elderly parents and dependent family members would now manage their daily expenses.
According to Ram, many of the affected families were already struggling financially before the floods struck.

Questions Raised Over Government Response
Pravin Ram criticised the state administration for not reaching out to families who lost relatives during the floods.
He questioned why senior government leaders were absent despite reports of more than 45 deaths linked to the flooding, saying disaster victims deserve compassion, timely relief, and direct support from those in power.
He also urged the Chief Minister and cabinet ministers to personally visit the affected areas to understand the scale of destruction and listen to the concerns of local residents.
Demand for ₹1 Crore Compensation
AAP has demanded that the Gujarat Government provide ₹1 crore in compensation to the family of every person who died in the floods.
The party also called for comprehensive assistance for families that lost their primary breadwinners, along with long-term rehabilitation measures for those displaced or financially devastated by the disaster.
Call for Immediate Relief
Pravin Ram appealed to the government to move beyond political considerations and prioritise humanitarian relief.
He said AAP would continue raising the issue until affected families receive adequate compensation, rehabilitation support, and justice.
The party also appealed to the people of Gujarat to stand with flood-affected families and support efforts aimed at rebuilding their lives after one of the state’s most severe flood disasters.
