The seventh state level advisory committee meeting related to FPO formation and promotion under centrally sponsored schemes was held on Wednesday in the meeting room of Pant Krishi Bhawan, which was presided over by Government Secretary Agriculture and Horticulture Rajan Vishal.
Rajan Vishal said that advanced technical facilities are being provided to further empower the farmer producer organizations, due to which the farmers are getting maximum benefits from the farmer producer organizations.
In the meeting, the Secretary discussed about Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), their membership, grants to them, business plan and various licenses to FPOs like Seeds, Fertilizers, Pesticides, Mandis, e-NAM, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) etc. At the same time, he directed the officials to strengthen the FPOs, provide them market linkages, obtain all necessary licenses, promote trade and implement the benefits under all departmental schemes in the right manner.
Rajan Vishal said that the implementing agencies should review the FPOs every month and maintain their progress, so that the Farmer Producer Organization can run smoothly. Value chain partner system will be implemented in FPOs. The FPO can prove to be helpful in custom hiring centers and other agricultural useful activities under the value chain, which will increase the production capacity of the farmers.
The meeting was attended by Director Agriculture Marketing Rajesh Kumar Chauhan, General Manager Agriculture Marketing Board Sanjay Sharma, members of all implementing agencies and officers of the concerned departments.
