UP Board exam centres 2027: Provisional list will be released on September 21, followed by objections, a revised list and final centres on October 29.
The Uttar Pradesh Board has started the process of finalising examination centres for the 2027 High School and Intermediate examinations. The UP Board exam centres 2027 process is being carried out after a physical verification of facilities and infrastructure at schools across Basti district.
A total of 396 schools in the district were physically inspected to assess whether they have the required resources and basic facilities to host board examinations. Following the verification, the list of eligible schools was uploaded on the Board’s official website on August 10.
Provisional Centre List on September 21
The first major stage in the UP Board exam centres 2027 process will take place at the district level on September 21, when the provisional list of examination centres will be published.
Schools will then be given an opportunity to raise objections against the proposed centres. Authorities will examine the objections and make necessary corrections before releasing the revised list on September 28.
The process will subsequently move to the Board level. The online list of examination centres will be published by the Board on October 22. Objections will again be invited from schools and other concerned parties. After considering and resolving the objections, the final list of examination centres is scheduled to be released on October 29.
Distance Rules for Students
While finalising the UP Board exam centres 2027, authorities will also consider the distance students have to travel to reach their examination centres.
Special attention will be given to ensuring that students do not have to travel unnecessarily long distances. Examination centres for female students are expected to be located within a range of around 7 to 10 kilometres, while the prescribed distance for male students is expected to remain between 10 and 15 kilometres.
The objective is to reduce travel-related difficulties for students during the examination period and make the examination arrangement more convenient.
More Than 74,000 Students Registered Last Year
The scale of the examination arrangement can be gauged from the number of students who appeared from Basti district in the 2026 UP Board examinations.
A total of 74,158 students were registered for the High School and Intermediate examinations. This included 39,944 High School students and 34,214 Intermediate students.

To accommodate these candidates, 130 examination centres were established across the district in 2026. The number and location of centres for the 2027 examinations will be determined after the completion of the ongoing verification and objection process.
Physical Verification Completed
The UP Board exam centres 2027 selection process began with applications submitted by schools for consideration as examination centres. Officials subsequently conducted physical verification to assess the infrastructure and facilities available at the institutions.
Basti District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Sanjay Singh said the list prepared after physical verification had been sent online to the Board. He added that the remaining stages of the centre-allotment process would be completed soon.
The release of the provisional list on September 21 will allow schools to review the proposed arrangements and submit objections before the authorities move towards the revised and final lists.
With multiple verification and objection stages built into the process, the UP Board exam centres 2027 arrangement is expected to be finalised by October 29 at the Board level.
