UP Cabinet Meeting: CM Yogi Adityanath to discuss 20+ proposals, including the supplementary budget, Jewar-Ganga Expressway and key reforms.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will chair a crucial state cabinet meeting on Tuesday, August 4, at his official residence in Lucknow. More than 20 proposals are expected to be discussed and approved during the meeting, covering infrastructure, agriculture, education, technology and administrative matters.
Among the major proposals on the agenda is the supplementary budget, which is expected to be tabled in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly during the ongoing Monsoon Session.
Jewar-Ganga Expressway Link Proposal
The Cabinet Meeting is also likely to consider the cost estimate for the proposed Jewar Link Expressway to the Ganga Expressway through Bulandshahr. The project is expected to strengthen road connectivity and improve links between important areas of western Uttar Pradesh.
Changes in Madrasa Education Rules
Another significant proposal concerns the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Council Act, 2004. The government is expected to consider an amendment under which madrasas in the state would no longer be authorised to award ‘Kamil’ and ‘Fazil’ degrees.
The proposal is among the key education-related matters listed for consideration before the cabinet.

Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority
The Cabinet Meeting agenda also includes a proposal to establish the Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority. The proposed authority is expected to provide an institutional framework for coordinated development across the region.
In addition, the government is likely to consider proposals for the free transfer of land for seven multi-purpose hubs in different parts of Uttar Pradesh. A proposal for the formation of a Nomadic Development Board is also expected to come up.
Agriculture and Vishwakarma Scheme Proposals
Agriculture-related matters are also part of the cabinet agenda. The government is expected to consider implementing the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Bima Yojana and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme in Uttar Pradesh in accordance with the latest Government of India guidelines.
The cabinet may also discuss amendments to the implementation guidelines of Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0, aimed at improving the scheme’s implementation.
Two proposals from the IT and Electronics Department are also expected to be presented before the cabinet.
Other Proposals on the Agenda
The Cabinet Meeting is further likely to consider extending an agreement related to a community project for another five years. The original agreement was signed on February 6, 2015.
A proposal concerning the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) is also expected to be placed before the cabinet.
With more than 20 proposals scheduled for consideration, Tuesday’s meeting could result in several important decisions concerning Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure, administration, agriculture, education and development.
CM Yogi Calls for Focus on Public Issues During Assembly Session
The cabinet meeting comes a day after CM Yogi Adityanath addressed the opening day of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s Monsoon Session.
The Chief Minister urged legislators to use the Assembly as an effective platform to raise and resolve issues affecting poor families, farmers, youth and women.
Yogi said that MLAs should bring issues from their respective constituencies before the House so that the government can examine them and work towards solutions.
He also referred to the significance of the Shravan month, particularly for farmers, students dealing with admissions and the Kanwar Yatra.
Yogi Hits Back at SP Over Ram Mandir Issue
During his interaction with reporters, Yogi Adityanath also responded to the Samajwadi Party’s allegations concerning alleged irregularities in donations collected for the Ram Mandir.
The Chief Minister accused the opposition of having opposed or obstructed the construction of the temple and maintained that the Assembly should instead be used to discuss matters directly affecting the people of Uttar Pradesh.
The Monsoon Session is expected to witness discussions on a range of political, developmental and public-interest issues as the government presents its priorities before the legislature.
