Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 71 development projects worth ₹208 crore at GIDA Sector-13 in Gorakhpur, marking a major push for regional industrial growth and housing infrastructure under the GIDA Sector-13 development project.
The initiative includes a flatted factory complex and an EWS-LIG residential housing project, aimed at boosting employment opportunities and improving living standards for workers and industrial stakeholders in the region.
GIDA Sector-13 Development Project Focuses on Industrial Growth and Employment
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that the GIDA Sector-13 development project has already contributed significantly to employment generation, with nearly 50,000 youths engaged in various industrial units operating in the region.
He stated that the GIDA Sector-13 project is attracting workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Nepal, and other parts of the country, reflecting strong industrial confidence driven by improved law and order conditions.
Development Project Highlights Law and Order Driven Growth
CM Yogi emphasized that the success of the GIDA Sector-13 development project is closely linked to the state’s strict law-and-order framework. He reiterated that development and security go hand in hand, and without safety, industrial growth cannot be sustained.
He also reinforced the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and corruption, stating that strict action will continue against those who threaten public safety or economic progress.

Development Project Introduces Flatted Factory Model
A key feature of the GIDA Sector-13 project is the introduction of a flatted factory complex, which will allow more than 100 MSME units to operate within a single integrated facility.
The Chief Minister noted that the GIDA Sector-13 development project provides an affordable industrial platform for young entrepreneurs who lack capital to purchase land or build factories, enabling them to start businesses in sectors like electronics, garments, and manufacturing.
The GIDA Sector-13 project also features EWS-LIG residential housing for industrial workers, offering modern facilities such as bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and balconies at affordable installment plans.
Officials said the GIDA Sector-13 development project aims to ensure dignified living conditions for workers while improving productivity through proximity between residential and industrial zones.
Development Project Strengthens Connectivity and Industrial Expansion
The government highlighted that the GIDA Sector-13 project is supported by improved connectivity through expressways and expanded industrial zones, including the Dhuriyapar expansion of GIDA.
The GIDA Sector-13 development project is expected to further attract investment from national and international companies, strengthening Gorakhpur’s position as an emerging industrial hub in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
