Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is actively expanding his real estate portfolio in Ayodhya. Abhinandan Lodha, the founder and CMD of The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), recently shared an interesting detail about how the senior superstar personally reached out to him late at night to secure a ₹15 crore property deal in the temple city.

The Late-Night Conversation Between Amitabh Bachchan and Abhinandan Lodha

Speaking at a recent real estate summit, Abhinandan Lodha recalled the incident from 2023. Lodha mentioned that he was in Australia at the time when he received a couple of missed calls around 3 AM local time.

The calls were followed by a text message: “This is Amitabh Bachchan, please call back when convenient.” Lodha immediately called him back.

During the conversation, Bachchan expressed his deep connection to Uttar Pradesh, stating:

“Abhinandan ji, main UP se hoon aur mujhe Ayodhya mein land leni hai” (I am a native of Uttar Pradesh and I want to buy land in the holy town of Ayodhya).

How The ₹15 Crore Deal Was Finalized

When Bachchan inquired about the pricing for a 15,000 sq ft plot, Lodha mentioned that it would cost around ₹15 Crore. The transaction moved incredibly fast, with the superstar transferring the entire amount the very next day to finalize the purchase.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Growing Properties in Ayodhya

This wasn’t a one-off purchase. The veteran actor has been consistently investing in Ayodhya’s booming real estate market:

• January 2024: Bachchan acquired his first 10,000 sq ft plot in HoABL’s luxury project, The Sarayu, just ahead of the landmark Ram Mandir inauguration.

• March 2026: He expanded his holdings by acquiring an additional 2.67 acres of land near The Sarayu development for ₹35 Crore. The deal was executed via Rajesh Yadav, Managing Director of AB Corp Ltd.

• Overall Portfolio: This marks Bachchan’s third investment in Ayodhya through HoABL and his fourth property overall in the city. (He also owns a 10,000 sq ft plot in their Sol de Alibaug project).

Ayodhya Emerges as a Premium Investment Destination

According to Lodha, the megastar’s frequent investments reflect a strong belief in land as a long-term asset. Backed by rapid infrastructure development and continuous public investment, Ayodhya is quickly turning into a highly sought-after destination for high-value property ownership.
