The Prayagraj-Bhadra-Sunaoti-Jaunpur main connecting road is completely waterlogged, with more than three feet of water flowing across the stretch. The situation has made travel difficult and risky for local residents and commuters.
20-25 Villages May Lose Connectivity
The Prayagraj flood situation has created a major connectivity challenge for around 20 to 25 villages that depend on the affected road to reach the main city. Residents say the recurring monsoon flooding has disrupted the movement of people and essential supplies.
School-going children, elderly residents and daily commuters are among those facing difficulties. Locals are also concerned that further rise in the water level could cut off several villages completely.
Local resident Pankaj Yadav said that the submerged road was making transportation extremely difficult and that the supply of essential goods had also been affected. He urged the administration to provide immediate assistance to affected residents.
Another resident, Divakar Vind, said the route is important for work, education and other daily activities, but increasing water levels have made travelling extremely challenging.

Administration Activates Flood Relief Posts
Amid the worsening Prayagraj flood situation, the district administration has issued an alert and activated flood relief posts. Officials are monitoring water levels and keeping a close watch on vulnerable areas.
Residents have appealed for urgent measures to manage the situation and ensure safe movement and access to essential services.
Flood Preparedness Strengthened in Varanasi
Meanwhile, authorities in neighbouring Varanasi have also strengthened preparations in view of the possibility of rising water levels in the Ganga and Varuna rivers.
The administration has identified 61 flood relief camps across the district. These facilities are being prepared with arrangements for shelter, food, drinking water, lighting, sanitation and other basic necessities.
The Prayagraj flood situation remains under close monitoring as authorities assess the impact of rising river levels and waterlogging. With the monsoon continuing, residents in low-lying and riverside areas have been advised to remain alert.
