Ahead of the festival of colors, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a comprehensive set of Holi 2026 Guidelines to ensure peace and harmony across the state. Addressing a gathering at the ‘Bhakt Prahlad Shobhayatra’ organized by the Shri Holika Dahan Utsav Samiti in Pandeyhata, the CM emphasized that festivals should be a source of joy, not a cause for conflict or public nuisance.
No Forced Colors or Obscene Music
In a clear message to the public, the Chief Minister stated that the Holi 2026 Guidelines strictly prohibit the playing of “obscene or objectionable songs” that could hurt religious sentiments or public dignity. He urged citizens to celebrate using only natural colors and ‘Gulal.’ “Do not apply color to anyone’s face forcibly. No one should be coerced into participating against their will,” the CM remarked, highlighting that the true spirit of the festival lies in voluntary celebration and mutual respect.
Zero Tolerance for Nuisance
Safety is a primary pillar of the new Holi 2026 Guidelines. The Chief Minister instructed the administration and police to maintain a high state of alert to prevent any untoward incidents during ‘Holika Dahan.’ He warned that any attempt to damage public or private property under the guise of celebration would be met with strict legal action. By enforcing these Holi 2026 Guidelines, the UP government aims to maintain the “riot-free” reputation the state has built in recent years.

New India: Stability Amidst Global Chaos
During his speech, Yogi Adityanath contrasted India’s domestic stability with the global turmoil currently seen in parts of West Asia. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for India’s progress. “While the world faces instability, India is touching new heights of development. In New India, there are opportunities and celebrations for every section of society,” he said. He noted that the discipline mentioned in the Holi 2026 Guidelines reflects the maturity of a progressing nation.
A Shift from the Era of Curfews
Recalling the period before 2014, the CM pointed out that festivals in Uttar Pradesh were once synonymous with curfews and tension. However, under the current administration, an atmosphere of security and trust prevails. He concluded by reiterating that following the Holi 2026 Guidelines is essential to showcase the cultural strength and unity of the state to the world.
