Aman Arora states that citizens can access services effortlessly from their homes by simply dialing the helpline number 1076.
To further improve governance and enhance accessibility to government services, Punjab Governance Reforms Minister Aman Arora announced the expansion of the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar” scheme on Thursday. With the inclusion of 363 additional citizen-centric services, the initiative now enables people to access a total of 406 services, previously available at Sewa Kendras, right at their doorstep.
This initiative facilitates home delivery of services such as driving licenses, police verification, and passport applications.
Flagging off the ‘Sewa Sahayaks’ at MGSIPA to assist citizens in utilizing this scheme, Minister Aman Arora highlighted that the program, initially launched on December 10, 2023, with just 43 services, has now expanded to cover 406 services across 29 key government departments. These include services related to driving licenses, passport applications, police verifications, utility connections, district authority NOCs, tenant verification, and more. The addition of 363 new services ensures faster, more efficient service delivery while eliminating unnecessary paperwork and delays.
Speaking on the overwhelming public response, the Governance Reforms Minister Aman Arora revealed that over 92,000 applications have been received under the scheme, all of which have been processed on time. This initiative has spared citizens the inconvenience of visiting government offices, ensuring that their documents are delivered directly to their homes.
Minister Aman Arora stressed that the scheme aims to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles, long queues, and the complexities of government procedures, ultimately saving people’s time and effort. Designed to address these challenges, the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” initiative ensures that essential services reach every citizen of Punjab conveniently.
In the past two years, the state government has made remarkable progress in simplifying processes, digitizing records, and eliminating the need for physical certificates. More than 77 lakh certificates have already been issued digitally, allowing citizens to receive government-approved documents directly on their mobile phones, saving both time and money. Furthermore, officials such as Patwaris, Sarpanches, Nambardars, and Municipal Corporation representatives have been integrated into the system to process applications online, streamlining service delivery. Over 9 lakh applications have already been processed by Patwaris digitally.
To enhance service quality, citizens are encouraged to share their feedback. So far, 12.95 lakh citizens have rated the services, with an impressive average rating of 4.1 out of 5.
Minister Aman Arora emphasized that these reforms go beyond technology; they focus on creating a more responsive and accountable government. He urged citizens to make full use of the expanded services and experience their transparency and convenience firsthand. “We are dedicated to serving you better and building a Punjab where every citizen feels valued and empowered,” he stated.
Director of Governance Reforms, Mr. Girish Dayalan, also spoke about the department’s initiatives and assured Cabinet Minister Aman Arora of their commitment to implementing governance reforms that promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery.
