Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna enables 98-year-old woman to receive cashless cancer treatment, ensuring free healthcare up to ₹10 lakh in Punjab.
Highlighting its commitment to accessible and dignified healthcare, the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has once again demonstrated the impact of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, as a 98-year-old woman in Moga successfully received cashless cancer treatment under the scheme.
Mukhtiar Kaur, one of the oldest beneficiaries of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, underwent specialised cancer treatment, including chemotherapy-related care, fully covered under her Sehat Card. At such an advanced age, continuous medical attention is critical, and the availability of cashless healthcare ensured that her treatment was not delayed due to financial constraints.
The treatment included advanced medication and supportive therapy as part of a chemotherapy regimen, requiring close monitoring and timely medical intervention. With seamless verification of the Sehat Card at the hospital, the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna enabled immediate commencement of treatment, ensuring uninterrupted care.

For families supporting elderly patients, the cost of repeated hospital visits and specialised treatments often becomes a heavy burden. The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is bridging this gap by offering financial protection and access to quality healthcare, allowing families to focus entirely on recovery and well-being.
Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh emphasised the importance of the scheme, stating, “Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is ensuring that elderly citizens receive timely and necessary healthcare without financial hardship, while maintaining dignity in their later years.”
The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna provides cashless health coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family annually, enabling beneficiaries to access treatment at empanelled government and private hospitals across Punjab. With over 9 lakh Sehat Cards issued and more than 900 hospitals empanelled, the scheme offers access to over 2,300 medical packages covering a wide range of treatments.
This initiative continues to strengthen Punjab’s pro-people healthcare model, ensuring that even the most vulnerable sections of society receive timely and affordable medical care.
